8 - Storyboard/Plot
Welcome back to all you friendly aliens!
Merry Chrysler, Happy New Year and all that stuff!!
Hope you are doing well.
This blogpost is all about our story and we finally get to share our first storyboard.
But first, we'll dive into the plot itself (the storyboard will easly explain itself after reading this, we promise).
PLOT
Prologue:
The story starts with the spaceship “stranding” in space on the way back from the moon. While crashing, the door of the spaceship swings open and tumbling out comes the protagonist together with lots of his personal belongings which are being scatterd across the moon’s surface
1: Desperation
The protagonist realizes the gravity (lol) of the situation, looking back at earth and out into space in panic.
What to do??
2: Hope
A plan is made to retrieve all the lost belongings and get back to earth. Another character appears and offers help, which sets the adventure into hopeful action. From here on the protagonist will meet lots of different creatures with each one “helping” them to find one of the lost items.
3: Ups and Downs
Some characters the progatonist meets are helpful, some are not. Some ask questions about life on earth, some are like curious children, some like old, wise deities.
In order to add some tension to the story, the protagonist doesn’t know why the spaceship crashed, they just know something big must’ve bumped into it. But upon taking a closer look, nothing suspicious is to be seen.
This develops into an antagonist type of plot which is resolved at the very end of the story and gets relevance at different steps in the game as well.
It was an alien spaceship operated by a jealous alien that can’t pass through the earth’s atmosphere with their ship which was trying to caper the protagonist’s ship.
In the end, after interacting for the first time and talking about earth (here the protagonist is pushed to reflect on the entire learning journey so far) they make peace. The alien also realizes how much they miss their home planet and how beautiful it is. It offers the protagonist the last push that is needed to get the protagonist’s spaceship back to earth.
That's it! That's our story.
Now enjoy this beautifully drawn storyboard!
